(10 Seconds To Six Figures!)
We were at the International Maxwell Conference in Orlando, surrounded by thousands of people. It was a sea of faces, all bustling with energy and enthusiasm.
We had a booth at the conference, and our goal was simple…
Sell Our Faces Off!
However, we faced a significant challenge. When people walked by, we had only one chance to grab their attention.
The question “What do you do?” had to be answered with a 10-second hook that would buy us a little more time to get to the next step in the sales process.
It was a make-or-break micro chance… because if our one-sentence explanation didn’t captivate them, we wouldn’t get any more time… they kept right on walking down the hallway! (Heck half of them didn’t even stop walking as they asked “Oh, A.I. – What do you guys do?”
Test Those Hooks FAST
The great news was that with so many people walking by, we had the opportunity to test a variety of hooks super-FAST.
We tried different approaches, looking for the perfect pitch that would engage the people and get them wanting to learn more.
Eventually, we settled on a succinct and captivating single sentence that went something like this:
“We provide all the content marketing, blog creation, email writing, ad writing, and presentation promotion you need to do, but don’t have the time or energy to get done yourself… all at the click of a button!”
And it worked.
When we delivered this line, it piqued their interest, and they would often ask…
“That sounds cool. How does it work?”
That was the magic response! This gave us the opportunity to provide a quick demo and engage with potential clients.
By testing and perfecting our hook, we had our biggest event ever at this past IMC, by a long shot!
It was a testament to the power of a single sentence to capture the imagination and interest of others.
The lesson we learned was clear: we all need to be able to describe what we do or who we are in a single sentence that prompts people to automatically ask for more information.
It’s about creating a hook that draws the right people in and gets them wanting to know more!
In the end, it’s about the power of a compelling message.
By perfecting our pitch, we were able to make a HUGE impact on our sales AND our customers’ lives!
It taught us that with the right approach, anything is possible. We just need to find the right words, the right message, and deliver it with confidence, conviction, and passion.
