When it comes to launching a product, should you go for a live launch or an evergreen launch? I’ve been down this road, and let me tell you, your choice matters.
A live launch is like throwing a big party.
You set a date, get your guests excited, and for a solid period – let’s say Monday through Friday – you’re all-in, engaged, and responsive. This is the time when you share everything about your product, answer questions, and connect with your audience. It’s vibrant. It’s electric. You can feel the energy as you watch people engage with your launch in real time.
I remember my first big live launch well.
I created a product teaching people how to make multimedia info-products. Everything was new, and I was nervous but also super excited. I was on video, sharing my knowledge, addressing questions, and interacting with comments from my audience. It wasn’t perfect, but that was actually part of the charm.
I sold enough to pay off my house. 😊
That feeling? Incredible! I learned quickly that the immediate feedback from my audience was priceless.
Then, there’s the evergreen launch.
This kind of launch works like a set-it-and-forget-it mechanism. Your content is pre-recorded, and people can jump in whenever they want. If Mary shows up on a Thursday, she starts her day one then. If Johnny arrives on a Monday, he starts his experience right then.
The evergreen model is convenient and allows you to scale your offering. But here’s the catch: with evergreen launches, you miss out on the real-time feedback that can make your product better.
Jumping straight to evergreen without a live launch WILL lead to challenges.
I learned that the hard way.
With another product, I tried launching evergreen initially, thinking I could bypass all the live fuss.
It didn’t go well.
With no direct interaction, I couldn’t tell what worked and what flopped until it was too late. I didn’t have that energy and connection I experienced during my first live launch. It felt flat, and my audience didn’t even notice.
It’s crucial to understand this:
Your First Launch Should Be Live!
It lets you gain insights into what your audience truly thinks. You can adjust on the fly, making your offer more appealing. Hell, I’ve added bonuses in the middle of a launch that we initially had NO intention of offering. It’s like polishing a rough diamond until it shines right there in the jewelry case!
Once you’ve ironed out the details and received that all-important feedback, you can turn it into an evergreen process. This way, it runs smoothly while you connect with even more people down the line.
What about AI?
Now, the launch world is shifting with the rise of AI and automation. Sure, technology can help streamline processes, but I worry that some folks might forget that a successful launch relies on real human connection.
People want to feel like they’re getting something unique and valuable.
If it feels fake or automated, they can sense it, and trust gets lost… and your sales SUCK!
Think about your audience. They want to be engaged. They want to feel special and part of something big. A successful product launch is not just about the money – it’s about providing value and enriching the lives of your customers. It’s an opportunity to create a genuine connection. As automation grows, it’s vital not to lose sight of these human aspects. (Ya know, like people buying stuff and wanting to feel good about it… and then actually get results!)
So, when you’re thinking about which route to take for your product launch, remember: live first.
Engage with your audience, learn what resonates, and capture that excitement. Use your first live launch to gather insights. After that, once you have everything dialed in, consider turning your offer into an evergreen process.
- Start with a live event.
- Get real interaction.
- Listen to your audience.
- Refine your offer based on their feedback.
- Dial it in.
- Make it evergreen.
Final note: you can’t fool people into thinking something is live when it’s not. Authenticity matters. Never try to fool people into thinking your evergreen launch is actually happening live.
So, don’t skip the live launch. Embrace the energy and the feedback. It’s a game-changer!
