When it comes to selling online, most people either wing it, or they burn themselves out trying to reinvent the wheel every time. The truth is, launches don’t need to be complicated. In fact, Stew and I recently broke down on the podcast exactly how to turn a simple product promo into a revenue-producing launch using what I call the Magic 5-Email (Message) Promo Sequence.
This works whether you’re launching a brand-new product, re-launching an old favorite, or just running a special promo “because you feel like it.”
Here’s how it breaks down:
Step 1: The Heads Up / Anticipation Email
Your goal here is to warm people up. Let them know something exciting is coming.
This isn’t about selling – yet. It’s about planting the seed so when the big announcement drops, they’re ready.
On the show, I even mentioned that this can be as simple as: “Tomorrow I’ve got something new that will help you build unstoppable confidence and resilience… you don’t want to miss it.”
Think of this as the movie trailer that gets people buzzing.
Step 2: The Announcement Email
Now you swing the doors wide open. Reveal your product, bundle, or special offer.
Share what it is, what problem it solves, and why you created it. Stew used this step to announce his Never Quit Mindset book + Stretching Video bundle – a perfect example of two products tied together under a unifying theme.
This is the “grand opening” moment. Make it clear, make it bold, and make it exciting.
Step 3: The Proof / Credibility Email
People want to know, “Does this actually work for people like me? Can I trust you?”
This is where you share testimonials, case studies, or your own story of success.
Stew had some great examples – like a dad whose 13-year-old twins wrote book reports on the Never Quit Mindset. That kind of proof is gold because it shows real people using and benefitting from the product.
Bottom line: credibility and PROOF sells.
Step 4: The Reason to Act Now Email
At this point, some folks are interested but dragging their feet. They need a nudge.
Give them a compelling reason to act now – an extra bonus, an exclusive Q&A, or even just pointing out how much easier life will be once they have your product. Stew added a Live Q&A session as a bonus for buyers, which instantly raised the perceived value.
If you don’t give people a reason to act now, they’ll keep putting it off… forever!
Step 5: The Scarcity / Urgency With Deadline Email
Finally, you hit them with the deadline. Scarcity and urgency are the ultimate motivators.
Make it crystal clear: the deal ends at midnight, the bonuses vanish after Labor Day, or only 100 seats are available. This is where fence-sitters make their move.
On the podcast, I compared this whole process to a “slippery slide of persuasion.” Each step naturally moves people closer to buying – without being pushy or obnoxious.
The Takeaway
Launching doesn’t mean spending months building hype or stressing over every word. With the Magic 5-Email (Message) Promo Sequence, you’ve got a proven, repeatable framework that takes people from curious to committed.
Use it for your next launch, your next promo, or even your next “just because” sale. Follow the steps, hit send, and watch what happens.
Because in the end, launches aren’t about making noise – they’re about making sales.
